Who: You
When: The weekend of
May 8-10, 1998
Where: Still to be determined.
Choices include:
One of the Twin Cities residences:
If we did this it would have to be a BYOBs (Bring Your Own Beers)
Beerfest. Guidelines might include:
- Every couple should bring at least two kinds of beer. Since
we'll be doing this on Saturday, beer could also be purchased in
the Twin Cities before the fest.
- Email me with your beer selections (if purchasing ahead of
time) so I can post them and we can avoid duplication.
- Bring enough of each type of beer to fill ten sample-size
glasses (min. 4 oz. per person).
OR
One of the Twin Cities drinking establishments:
If we did this we could request that:
- Each couple participating will be responsible for buying one
or two pitchers of differing kinds of beer which will be split
evenly among the members of the group for evaluation and
consumption. We'll already have our own glasses, see below.
Possible sites might include:
- Old Chicago
- Williams
- Sherlock's Home
Why:
- FREE GIFTS: Commemorative Drinking Jars, Nametags, Pencil
& Scorecard, Informational Booklet
- Beer is your friend! Check out this news flash: **
In July, the Lomsko Pivo brewery in Lom,
Bulgaria, announced that brewmaster Yordan Platikanov has
developed a beer that could neutralize any lingering amounts of
uranium 134 and strontium in the body after exposure to nuclear
radiation. Platikanov said the new beer should be urged on nuclear
power plant workers relaxing at the end of a shift. **
- See friends.
- Drink beer.
- See friends drink beer!
- Great chance to use some of these Norm
Peterson quotes.
- Test the Five Stages of Inebriation
Theory.
- You can be prepared ahead of time. Just click on the "American
Gothic" below for some Beerfest tips.
What (will we drink): Depends
largely on where we hold the fest.
At this point it seems likely that all beer purchases will be made
in the Twin Cities, either at a bottle shop or a drinking
establishment. Coordination to avoid duplication will occur
on-site.
