Old (Pre-Hivemind) News:
February 11, 2005 There's a new organization scheme for information about
the current festival:
- This page will eventually house the festival Schedule when it develops.
- The "BIYF 8" News link will be the one
to check for informational postings from around the Collective. To
post to it, select the "BIYF 2005 News" category when you
post news at the Hivemind. Follow the news here, the Hivemind, the
BIYF.com home page, or via RSS.
- Discuss this year's festival plans at the "BIYF 8" General
Forum.
- Discuss this year's viewing options at the Movie Forum.
- Discuss this year's beer selections at the Beer Forum.
- Weigh in on issues great and small at the Hivemind Opinion
Polls.
- Laugh at the absurdity or purchase an item at the BIYF Store(s).
Heck, we've got the tools now, we might as well use them as they're
intended to be used. February 6, 2005
The BIYF
Store has added a second style of BIYF 8 item for those
that prefer a choice and the Classic
BIYF
Store has opened its doors.
The action at the BIYF
Movies forum has slowed down this week. Stop by and
weigh in when you get a chance. The second BIYF 8 poll hasn't seen
much activity either, but the results to date indicate a decided
indifference on the part of the Collective regarding revisiting
a film from the original BIYF for this year's festival. Things
have
been hopping over at the Hivemind in
general, though. Make
sure you check this out.
Still lots and lots of time before Memorial Day weekend.
Stay tuned.
January 30, 2005
It's still way too early for much to be
happening, but there are a few things to check out. There's a second
poll at
the Hivemind to
check whether there's an interest in revisiting any of the three films
from the first BIYF Festival for the "benefit" of those members that
missed them first time around. The first poll seems to indicate that
Memorial Day weekend is the likely date of the 2005 festival.
The store is
up and running with some new items, for both BIYF 8 and
otherwise.
The BIYF
Movies forum has seen a little action this week over
at the Hivemind.
Visit today and nominate films or weigh in on some nominees.
January 24, 2005
It's a small start, but it's a start. There's not much
to see yet, but welcome the BIYF Eight Festival page.
Check out the Hivemind for
a poll checking
to see if Memorial Day is still the preferred date for the BIYF weekend.
Also, take a second to ask the Magic Eight Ball above a question or two.
Click once for an answer. Click a second time to reset it. I'll add a
schedule page as soon as there's something scheduled and keep track of
things here as well as in the Hivemind.

Thanks again to everyone
for a fantastic and fun BIYF 2004: Biggest BIYF Ever (now archived above).
I just wanted to say, once again, how much everyone's contributions are
appreciated.
It's great to be able to see everyone and share some beer (and painful
cinema). See you at Rib Dependence!
