- 4:30-5:00 pm - Starbuck secures tickets for the May 23 movie.
- 6:30 pm - Zardoz and NOTE depart Cedar Rapids,
IA.
- 10:00-10:30 pm - Zardoz and NOTE arrive in Spring
Valley, MN for an overnight stay. Heading to Rochester, MN in the morning.
May 23, 2008
- Anders takes the day off work and offers prep help
to Malla and Bricker.
- 10:30-11:00 am - Zardoz and NOTE depart Rochester,
MN.
- 12:00 pm - Sandman and Blendergirl depart Marion,
IA. In theory, Starbuck escapes from work at this point.
- 2:30-3:00 pm - Zardoz and NOTE meet up with Rollerballer
and Phoebe for an afternoon walk around some of the nearby lakes.
- 3:30-4:00 pm - The Trogdors depart Cedar Rapids,
IA.
- 4:30-5:00 pm - Sandman and Blendergirl arrive in the
Twin Cities. Plans include docking at the "Meredith Bernard Interstellar Festival Hub" upon
arrival.
 7:00-7:30
pm - Everyone but the Bricker and the Trogdors
meet for dinner at Space
Aliens Grill & Bar. We thought we were having a
great time, and then the alien appeared and we learned it could get
so much better. If only that were true of the IJ film.- 9:30-10:00 pm - The Trogdors join the group at the Regal
Brooklyn Center Stadium 20 for a 10:00 pm showing
of Indiana
Jones and the
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Starbuck distributes tickets,
Zardoz hands out decision dice.
- During the film - The Collective gets a mention in
the dialogue along the lines of "a collective, more powerful together
than they are apart."
- Following the film - An odd man attempts to fill the
void left by a missing member of the Collective by butting into a group
conversation
outside the theater. Nature abhors a vacuum after all. We half expect
him to show up at breakfast the next day.
May 24, 2008
- Breakfast, Annual Meeting of the Board.
- BIYF XI Festival.
- Check In and Swag Distribution.
- Trip to Best Buy. - AVERTED!
- Beer and Clamato imbibed. The Letdown Lager is no letdown.
Clamato, as would be expected, is.
- Viewing selections watched/slept through as appropriate.
- Mass quantities of food consumed. The Bricker outdoes himself
once again. So good, so full. Can't... stop... eating...
- Lightning put back in bottle.
- Fire found.
- Firewood found. At Keith's house, during a mid-day walk.
- Firewood/excess home improvement materials burned in Fire Pit
until the wee hours.
May 25, 2008
- Derrs depart for Rachel's graduation at an INDECENT hour in the morning.
- Brunch at The
Bad Waitress.
- The Barnum-Meads depart the Twin Cities following the Closing
Ceremony and arrive in Cedar Rapids, IA via tornado (almost).
- Zardoz and NOTE depart the Twin Cities late afternoon and arrive in
Cedar Rapids, IA.
