While Sandman, Rollerballer and Zardoz certainly got by, and Bricker found his 'stache, maybe Trogdor and I could have used a set of these.
Sure beats the sharpie approach.

Footloose and fancy free...
NOTE and Zardoz are on the road north. We'll add comments as we go (if possible) to let you know where we're at. Feel free to use this post to update the Minnesotans on your travel progress if you're one of the other BIYF commuters.
It's here, drink beer!
P.S. The mail (including "the package") got here before we left, Rollerballer.

That's right,
Welcome to Wahoo Weekend Wednesday™ on the World Wide Web™ or, as I prefer to think of it (since my weekend starts tomorrow), BIYFmas Eve. Or perhaps that's X-mas Eve this year. Watch excitement soar! Watch workplace productivity plummet!
In all corners of the BIYF Universe quiet preparations are taking place: Some plan for childcare, some for travel and lodging arrangements. Others ponder food, drink, entertainment, swag, and promotional options. A few just send you email hyping something they're really, really excited about (... and to remind you to check in with anyone you need to check in with prior to BIYF).
All this in anticipation of the upcoming, glorious BIYF weekend. (Read more...)

The extra-terrestrial ones, that is. The portents continue as it is revealed that the planet Saturn has been preparing to celebrate BIYF X:
A strange hexagon shape over the north pole of Saturn was first spotted by the two Voyager spacecraft and has been revisited by the Cassini probe. The 26 years between sightings indicate it is likely a permanent feature on Saturn, according to NASA scientists. In fact, Cassini found a second hexagon, significantly darker than the original. This is the first time the feature has been captured on one image.
Now it just needs to work up a beer mug in the center and it's good to go. More (including pictures) below:

If you still don't know it's coming despite all of the email, voting, and hoopla, shame, I say, SHAME! Even the fortune cookie manufacturers know as evidenced by the word they thought I needed to learn in Chinese during my lunch at the MOA the other day (Note the 'stache, eh?):
