Gosh- that was fun!
Quick recap for those who missed it:
Gosh- that was fun!
Highlights:
Guthrie was a really nice place.
Scooby-do style hallway set- perfect for "creepy doll", but we all kept waiting for the chase scene
"Opening Band" panties full of hot-dog shaped bubblegum and chocolate...we hope
Stuffed monkey/pony from Build-A-Bear
Stuffed squid fail (no beak)
Bus Plunge (which apparently will not be written. Bummer.
Worst. Zombie. Chior. Ever. And that's my Iron Maiden cover band name.
Unfortunately, we had a Fail on the "Opening Band" panty throw. Anders can't seem to recall what happened to the BIYF thong I got her as a joke a couple years ago. SHE claims it got thrown out, but I'm suspicious. Something for next time.
All in all, a great time. (Read more...)

Not sure where to put this, but Livefeed has the first eight minutes of V up for viewing.
Hmmmm
Pro: not pretending this doesn't look like Independence Day
Con: they lugged a big-screen TV all that way and the best they can do is a talking head floating over Manhattan? This is a visual medium folks! Show me something!

Ok, technically Iowa is #4 in the BCS standings. But if you look over at the last column, you will see that the computer- which can't be affected by ESPN's endless hyping of the SEC has the Hawkeyes at #1!
(in an unrelated note: ESPN is on the hook to the SEC for $2 billion over 15 years. But they wouldn't promote that conference just to get more money, would they? Of course not!)
In other news- Jesse Palmer is a serious D-bag.

So even if much of the crowd was... we'll say unsure how to interpret JoCo...
At least one person thought it was great.
Besides us that is. Anders and I are of course still talking about it. Weeeeee!
Still tix available for the Guthrie on the 26th! Who's with me!

In classic BIYF fashion, the JoCo giftpack items will arrive Monday, October 12. Check out the one-of-a-kind commemorative T-shirt at the link below. Pretty standard, really - but again: One-Of-A-Kind!
Unless someone else orders one. Still, I suspect it will be an N of 13 or fewer shirts produced.
Beer label will be some sort of variant doubtless. Unless others have better ideas (which is certainly possible). It's looking like we'll figure out the label situation on Saturday morning or (more likely) Sunday sometime.
I'm very excited (and still wondering what I did with all that time since BIYF). See everyone soon.

How about a comics-inspired, socially-conscious clothing link to start off your day. Ah Toshi Station, I don't visit you nearly often enough...
