The Man From Atlantis surfaces, whether you want him to or not. I remember watching and enjoying this show, but then I watched a lot of garbage in the 70's.
Biddy-biddy-biddy-BUCK!

It's a Western.
With SciFi elements.
On Fox.
Yeah, that's new.

The BBC has just unveiled the new Doctor Who logo that will be used when new Doctor Matt Smith takes over next year.
It's OK, I guess - made better with sound and motion (and some lens flares for Starbuck). I wasn't all that attached to the flattened oval one we've been using since the relaunch anyway.

Why they chose this design over a replica Adam West Batman suit I'll never understand:
Produced under license from Warner Bros. Consumer Products on behalf of DC Comics, the Universal Designs Dark Knight Motorcycle Suit is a stunning recreation of one of the most iconic movie costumes of all time. The Dark Knight Motorcycle Suit comprises a full-leather jacket that includes lightweight interior lining, as well as molded-leather and Kevlar armor sections; pants that include heavy-duty, four-way stretch Spandex inserts and CE-approved armor; authentic gloves and boots that replicate the amazing on-screen design.

So at least one person is attempting to explain all of Superman's varied powers through a single "ability" which might account for all of them.
The article is fine, but I'm personally impressed that "Super Hypnosis" is covered by the time it reaches the fifth comment/response. As usual, the comments section trumps the original post.

Over at Rotten Tomatoes They've compiled a list of the 100 Worst-Reviewed Movies of the Last Ten Years that they're calling:
The Worst of the Worst
(Note that they do not include the hyphen in worst-reviewed thereby changing the meaning somewhat.)
ANYWAY! I'm not sure how to feel; I have only seen one of these movies. Not that I necessarily want to see Daddy Daycare, but there are a number of sci-fi films on the list. I have tried to watch two more of them but was unable to bear them. I'm so weak!
So. (Read more...)

Just got back from a homebrew blowout (shout out to Marktoberfest 3- 2nd anniversary party commemorating Marktoberfest 1!) where I got to rub the Iowa-Penn State result in the faces of a bunch of Golden Gomers. They were all up in my grill about "almost losing to UNI" and I was like "dude- they're pretty good! Ever hear of Kurt Warner? And besides- it was a wake-up call!" And they were like "Gophers have much more history." and I was like "maybe in the 1930's!" And then like after the game they were all like "wow- maybe Iowa is pretty good." And I was like "so was your mom" and then they like all looked at me and said "dude- so not cool."
So- like thanks for not embarrassing me at a party Iowa, I can to that by myself- Go Hawkeyes!

A UK man has constucted a life-size Dalek out of 480,000 matchsticks over a period of two years.
"I spent an hour or maybe two on it at a day because I have a bad back and it is difficult sitting still for such a long time," said Mr Croucher, a retired electroplater. "Besides, it can be a tedious business."
Tedious or not, he's selling it if you're buying. More below:
